Hi. Using the Rank Math plugin with Divi, I’m having trouble with the Alt text on images. Rank Math reports I don’t have the keyword in any of my image alt texts, when I actually do have the keywords in all my images. I spent an hour with Divi, who could not find the source of the problem, and suggested I send you the image of what they found. That is attached along with my screenshots. Thanks!

  • Hello,

Thanks for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

I can check that the image with the alt text in your header as a logo. The content analysis only analyzes the main content area of your page. It will not detect the images in your header or footer for that test. Please add an image in the main content area to pass the test.

Hope this clarifies your doubts. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch in case you need any other assistance.

Hi. Please note that I clearly stated “I actually do have the keywords in all my images.”
    Thank you.

    Hello,

We released a quick Beta update with a fix for the issue with the content analysis when using Divi. You can try to see if that helps.

Please enable the Beta update by following this:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/version-control/#beta-updates

    beta update

If you are unable to see an update, please clear Rank Math’s transients from:
WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Status & Tools > Database Tools > Remove Rank Math Transients > Remove transients
    remove transients rank math

Please clear the caches, server, and WordPress after updating.

You can disable the Beta updates once you update to the latest version and if the issue is fixed.

We are here to assist. Thank you.

Hi. Thanks for this option. I tried it, but unfortunately it did not work. I updated to Version 1.0.82-beta, then cleared the cache in all the categories you mentioned, but still have the issue with the images alt text.

    Hello,

I checked the page and no other image on the page has an alt text that includes your focus keyword womens bible study and that’s why you are failing the test.

Please add an image with the same alt text as your focus keyword to pass the test.

Let us know if you need any other assistance.

    Thanks.

    ??
As I said, every image on the page has the keyword. Please see example screenshot.

    Hello,

The image that you have shared is added as a background image and the background images aren’t considered for the content analysis.

However, I can check that the images have an ALT text in the media library but in the frontend, it is missing. You can also edit any image on your page and check the Attributes section under the Advanced tab to confirm the ALT text field is empty:

Can you please confirm if you have added the ALT text after adding the images on the page? However, I re-added an image on your page and the ALT text was added successfully and the test is being passed now:

Please check and let us know if you need any other assistance.

Wow, that’s a game changer… I had no idea about the frontend image alt text! Even Divi did not tell me about it when I brought them this question. Yes, that solves it, thank you!

Can I ask one last question on this topic before we close it? When I was working with Divi to try and fix it, they suggested it was the use of an apostrophe in the keyword. I was using “women’s bible study”, so we switched to “womens bible study”.

Now that the issue is resolved, I’d like to change everything back to “women’s…” but I’d like to first hear from you if that would create a problem.

Also, if I switch back to the non-beta version, will I have any problems with this issue?

    Hello,

You can switch back to the stable version since the last time you attempted to use the beta, it didn’t solve your issue although there’s a current issue with the content analysis that at the moment, the beta can resolve:

    • Fixed: Content analysis was not analyzing the main post content on the pages that were using Divi’s dynamic Header & Footer templates
    • Fixed: PHP warning on Divi’s frontend editor when WP File Manager plugin was active

Please visit our beta changelog here: https://rankmath.com/changelog/beta/

As for your keyword inquiry, apostrophes should be supported by Rank Math and it should be recognized in our Content Analysis. Please try adding it and see if its working from your end.

Looking forward to helping you on this one.

Thanks! I made those changes without any issues.

    Hello,

    Glad that helped.

Please feel free to reach out to us again in case you need any other assistance.

    We are here to help.

    Thank you.
