website structure

Hi, I would like to know if there is any difference SEO-wise, between creating a website structure like this: 1) pillar pages/ cluster pages/ subcluster posts
    2) pillar pages/ cluster pages/ custom links
    3) pillar pages/ categories/ subcategories
Basically, I would like to know if it matters at all which option you choose for structuring the content… Are categories easier to crawl for the google crawler, or are they considered “thin content” as I’ve read in an article?
I’m creating a food blog and using the Divi builder, so all these options are a bit confusing.

Another thing I’ve read is that posts allow interaction through a comments section, which apparently pages don’t. Is that true?
One last thing I read is about the importance of URL silos. Is all of the above irrelevant as long as you take care of the URL’s and interlink properly?

I hope I managed to explain myself clearly. Thanks in advance

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

The first priority in terms of SEO should be Making your site navigation Google crawler-friendly. To help Google find all pages on your site, make sure that you follow site best practices and that your pages are reachable by following links through your site’s navigation. For example, add links from menus to category pages, from category pages to sub-category pages, and finally from sub-category pages to all product pages.

Google generally doesn’t look at the structure of URLs to work out the structure of a site. Instead, it analyzes the linkages between pages to gain insights about the relative importance of different pages on a site. As a general rule, the more links a page has to it within a site, the higher the relative importance of the page to other pages on your site.

For example, if you have the best-selling product, consider linking to it from the home page or in other content, such as blog posts or newsletters on your site. This will help Google understand how important the product is in relation to your site.

WordPress comes with a built-in comment system that allows for community interaction around your content. You can read more about the WordPress comment system by following this link: https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/beginners-guide-on-how-to-moderate-comments-in-wordpress/
