Google meta description not the same on all listings – We are using RankMath on a new website http://www.lovesskin.co.uk We have added both the meta title and description on the homepage. When we use the term “loves Skin” (the name of the client) or “skin treatment clinic Weybridge” the meta title and description displays correctly as per the page:

Loves Skin Clinic in Weybridge Surrey | Aesthetics treatment
    http://www.lovesskin.co.uk
Our luxury skin clinic is a personalised journey to happier skin. Loves Skin offers a range of treatments using award winning treatment technology.

If we search “Skin Clinic Weybridge” the correct meta description is not displayed and we get:

Loves Skin Clinic in Weybridge Surrey | Aesthetics treatment
    http://www.lovesskin.co.uk
skin clinic surrey | skin clinic weybridge. Address 118 Oatlands Drive, Weybridge, Surrey KT13 9HL. Telephone 01932 212 798. Opening Times.

Is there a reason why the correct meta description is not showing with this search term? Its only changed since using Rank Math.

    Many thanks.

    Hi David,

Can you please check when the Google cache was updated for that page?
    1. https://i.rankmath.com/9q6X0H
    2. https://i.rankmath.com/R8N0Uh

If the cache date is from before adding the new meta description, then you just have to wait for Google to re-crawl and re-index the page with the new info. If the date is after you made the changes, the next step is to check if your title/description is properly set up in the page source:
    3. https://i.rankmath.com/HwXR1o

If it matches your settings, there is nothing else you can do as Google shows the title/description tag according to the search intent.

The best you can do is optimize your meta tags to try and match the intent of the search/keyword.

You can read more about it here

This section sheds light on that:

“Why the search result title might differ from the page’s tag” </p> <p>Hope that helps. If you have any further question(s), please let us know. Thank you.
