Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.
Google does not honor Meta Keywords for quite a long now so we never added them to the plugin. You can read more about that here:
https://webmasters.googleblog.com/2009/09/google-does-not-use-keywords-meta-tag.html
However, if you wanted to add your keywords set in Rank Math, you can use this filter:
https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#10-filter-to-add-the-keywords-meta-tag
I hope that helps.
Thank you.
Hi Reinelle,
Thanks for your quick reply!
I read the link and I understand that it is not useful using the meta tag for keywords.
Are the focus keywords that you set in rankmath per page not saved in the page source then?
Does the plugin save them in another way that Google can still find them?
Thanks in beforehand,
Kind regards,
Vincent
Hello,
The focus keywords that you insert on the pages are only used to test your content against that and provide some guidelines that we believe should help improve your chances of ranking for them.
They are not added anywhere in the source code and Google is not aware of which focus keywords you have on each page.
Hope this helps clarify your doubts.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
