Hello,
Thanks for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
Even if you noindex your categories, they should appear in the breadcrumbs. Can you please make sure that you have selected categories as the primary taxonomy of your posts from WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Posts?
Please share the URL of an affected post if the issue persists even after that.
We really look forward to helping you.
Thanks, i turned on the primary taxonomy as category and this did show up the category in the breadcrumb.
But it is showing only the sub-category. I want the breadcrumb to show
Home -> Parent Category -> Sub- Category -> Post Title
After going through your site literature, I updated the following
1. i have turned on “Show Categories” in breadcrumb section (rankmath)
2. Also, change the post primary category selection to be the “sub-category” for a sample post (as earlier it was selected as parent category)
Only then it showed up the complete path in the breadcrumb
Want to understand if this has any impact on SEO. Does the “primary category” for each post need to be changed and make it as “sub-category” (i.e. child category) to implement complete breadcrumbs site-wide. Is there any other way to do this site-wide without changing the post primary category
Will this impact the overall SEO and how will google look at the site’s overall structure
Hello,
It is recommended to show the complete path in the breadcrumbs.
If you want to show the full path in breadcrumbs(including the parent category) then you need to mark the child category as a primary category for the post/page.
We do provide the option to change the primary category on all posts/pages in the PRO version of the plugin:

I hope this helps.
Looking forward to helping you.
