    Hi there.

Firstly, thank you very much for developing such incredible SEO plugin for WP, really helps me so much to do some SEO work here.

Well, today I’ve found that my metapost table fully filled with kind of record with ‘rank_math_internal_links_processed’ value, and it was almost 2.5 millions records.

My post table itself contains only 22k+ of post.

    Is this normal?

Because lately, I’ve been experiencing trouble everytime I try to create a new post. It takes to much times to open even only for editing purpose. And I was curious that this symptom triggered this anomaly.

Thanks you in advance for your explanation.

    Best,
    RLS

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

It is normal to have those entries as you have thousands of posts. Those fields are in the wp_postmeta database table associated with the ID of each product.

Please note that removing those might cause the plugin to function properly and if after removing them you open the post/page again and save it, some of the values will be added to the database again.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for giving me explanation to this matter.

Well, I’ve decided to delete them, and as you told me before, my web seems to work properly.

So, as long as I edit the post it would be added again in wp_postmeta, right?

What if I never edit those older posts, or I open them without saving/updating activities?

    Thanks,
    RLS

    Hello,

If you never open your older posts again then the entry won’t be generated for those older posts.

This only gets generated by our plugin when you update the post and the metadata is updated to get information on the links on your post/page.

Also, this happens at first installation through a scheduled action called rank_math/links/internal_links, so whenever you see that action running you can be sure those will be added.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hi Miguel,

Ok, noted and thank you very much for those clues.

    Best,

    RLS
