I’ve set things up to pull in JetEngine Custom Fields, for certain Post Types, however when I check an individual post, the word count is incorrect and the snippet doesn’t show the contents of the chosen content in the chosen field (Description).
It seems to be a bug, because if I edit the snippet, put a blank space in the Description field, then delete the space, the content suddenly shows up. But again, if I save, the content disappears again. This shows JetEngine is sending the data to RankMath, RankMath knows about and can see the correct content, but for whatever reason, RankMath seems to be falling short of getting it automatically and showing it in the snippet.
For completion, I thought I’d include how I’ve got to this point, as there doesn’t seem to be a full guide in one place –
First, I’ve enabled certain fields in the JetEngine Dashboard under SEO as described here:
https://crocoblock.com/knowledge-base/articles/jetengine-seo-plugins-compatibility-rank-math-seoSecondly, within RankMath under Titles & Meta / Post Types, I’ve added the same fields (as mentioned above) at the bottom of the desired Post Types, in the Custom Fields box (at the bottom of the page), as referenced here:
https://support.rankmath.com/ticket/what-to-put-in-the-custom-fields-boxFinally, in the Description field of the same Post Type, I’ve referenced one of the chosen fields using the scheme, as explained here:
https://rankmath.com/kb/crocoblock-integration/Is the second step needed…? I get the same issue with and without that part, so maybe it is unnecessary?
I’m attaching a video in the Sensitive Data, so you can see this quirk in action.
