Fatal Error When Opening Wizard

After installing Rank Math I get the following fatal error (have tried three times):

An error of type E_ERROR was caused in line 204 of the file /home/broomfie/public_html/wp-content/plugins/seo-by-rank-math/includes/admin/class-registration.php. Error message: Class ‘CMB2_hookup’ not found

I’m assuming because it’s looking for the lower case “h” and the CMB2 file is an upper case “H”? Have no idea how to fix it though.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

This error may suggest that you have another plugin that is making use of CMB2 library on your site.
Could you please perform the steps described on this page and let us know how this goes:

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

It’s the CMB2 plugin with the “H” in hook.

Their latest update 3 weeks ago states:

    “Cleanup by renaming CMB2_hookup to CMB2_Hookup. Classes are case-insensitive, so this is a backwards-compatible change. Props @szepeviktor (#1330, #1328).”

This seems like my problem but they are saying the case is backwards compatible?

    Hello Lori,

We have already replied to your email query with the same issue.

Please contact the CMB2 plugin developer and let us know what they say.

    Thank you.

Yeah, I don’t have the time to research and fix your plugin. There are too many problems with it from the get go. Sticking with Yoast.

    Hi Lori,

We are so sorry about that. Every plugin has conflicts with one or two plugins as there are 55,000 plugins for WordPress and it is impossible to test each one.

We are checking this in more detail so we would request you to give us a few days.

If you have made up your mind though, we wish you all the best.
