Migration from All-in-One SEO works incorrectly

Hello and many thanks for the amazing plugin. Now I’m testing it to change on it from another one.

All-in-One SEO plugin, starting from v.4 (that was introduced more then 1 year ago) uses not only it’s own tables but some special macro-words as well, like #alt_tag, #post_title, #description that should be changed to the correspondent values.

it seems that you don’t do that while migration.

    Hello,

Thanks for contacting us and we regret the inconvenience caused.

When AIOSEO updated their plugin to version 4.x.x they completely rewrote the code and the import function stopped working for multiple SEO plugins.

This is something our team is aware and we are working hard on making the necessary changes to support the import from this version as well, but at the moment we don’t have the function ready.

If you can downgrade to version 3.x.x of AIO, you should be able to import the data correctly to Rank Math.

Hope this helps solve your issue.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you require any further assistance.

Could you specify (in the plugin description) the versions of the other plugins that you support for migration, please. We, customers need that to understand when are you ready to get our migration. Please.

    Hello,

Sorry for the confusion, but our plugin is already compliant with the latest versions and should migrate the data fine.

We recently worked on a refined importer for that plugin because of the issues my colleague mentioned so now it should be compatible with the latest version of AIO SEO.

Our importer also looks for the macro words that AIO SEO introduced with version 4 of their plugin.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Thank you for clarifying, Miguel.
Unfortunately, anyway the macro words haven’t been processed as well as keywords while migration from the latest version of All-in-One SEO to latest version of Rank Math SEO.
    What’s wrong?

    Hello,

Please could you provide examples of the macro words that failed to import from AIO SEO Pack. If possible also provide a screenshot of where these macro words are entered within AIO SEO.

We need to replicate the issue on our own setup in order to fix it, so any additional information you provide would be helpful.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

#alt_tag is a variable used by AIO SEO and since the variable is saved as it is in the database, our plugin imports it and not its value. Since we don’t use this syntax for the variables, it doesn’t show the value that it used to show in the AIO SEO.

And I enabled AIO SEO on your site and wasn’t able to find any keywords in any post or page. Can you please check and share a post with us that has the keywords set in AIO SEO?

    Looking forward to helping you.

Yes. I see them directly in database.

Any way, I give up to consider and testing the plugin.
    Thank you for co-operation.

    Hello,

We completely understand that and appreciate you giving us the chance to try Rank Math.

If at any time in the future you decide to give it another try don’t hesitate to get in touch.

    Thank you.
