If this reducing count is for the Sitelinks SearchBox, then please note that Rank Math adds the Sitelinks search box only to the homepage as it only needs to be present on the homepage as per Google’s guidelines which is why you are seeing a drop in sitelinks in GSC:

The Sitelinks SearchBox Schema will drop further until you see just one valid page.

Yes, by adding the code mentioned above my colleague should increase the number of pages with Sitelinks SearchBox schema. However, Google will take some time to crawl and index those new changes so you have to wait for some time.
