Format of Google Search Result

Hi there, since installing Rank Math (which we love by the way!), our business page result in organic search results has an odd format:

The name of the business is of the format “Site Name: Page Title”, whereas based on settings we were expecting “Page Title | Site Name” (the presence of the colon is especially odd)

And … the snippet is prefaced by a date: “Nove. 19, 1019: [snippet]”

The site in question is https://petkareclinic.com, and you can see the search result if you Google ‘Pet Kare Clinic’, or see the screenshot here:

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1snB1x7ZMCtxZans2I_hQIyWuahULsqFd/view?usp=drivesdk

I found one reference to a date appearing in the search results, but it seemed related to posts, and not pages. This page was created in 2013, and last edited yesterday. So I don’t know why this is so persistent.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Hello,

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

Hi there, about a week ago I provided credentials so that you could look into this further, but I don’t see any activity on the support ticket.

Do you think you will be able to look into this problem?

    Thanks!

    Spafford

    Hello,

    Apologies for the delay.

I have checked your page source and the title is correctly registered on the homepage.

Google sometimes does not honor your titles and displays them as per their will.

You can go through this post on Google Search Console support section.

Specifically, you might want to check the title Why the search result title might differ from the page's <title> tag

Okay thank you. I have just submitted a support request to the forum. I will let you know the reply.

    Hi Spafford,

We will be looking forward to your response.

    Thank you.
