Hi, Is it possible to disable rank math self-referencing canonical tags, which are generated by default?
It seems that they’re generated in the <body>, not <head>. This article on Google Developers (https://developers.google.com/search/blog/2013/04/5-common-mistakes-with-relcanonical) says that canonical tags should always be set up within <head>, and if they’re in <body>, they’re always disregarded, which means that Rank math automatically generated canonical are pointless. In the search console, they aren’t detected on any of my pages, which proves this point.
I’d like to add my own canonical tags to the head, but the same article also states that if multiple canonical tags are detected on the same page, all of them will be disregarded. So before I do that I need to disable the automatically generated rank math canonical tags. How would I do that?
Thanks,
