    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math for help with showing the correct Google search results depending on which country your visitors are searching from.

While setting the hreflang does help it’s a separate issue from geotargetting to promote a website in certain countries. You will need to set up geotargetting for each of your websites by doing the following.

    • Create a separate Google Search Console (GSC) property for each each of your country specific websites (If you haven’t already)
    • In the Google Search Console menu navigate to “Legacy Tools & Reports” > “International Targeting”
    • null

    • On the international targetting page make sure the Language tab is set up correctly, then switch to the the Country Tab and select the correct country

Please note that you cannot target multiple countries for a single GSC property. For that reason, you don’t need to set geotargetting for the US/international website. The Geotargetting from the other country websites should taker care of wrong results appearing for USA searches.

Regarding your hreflang tags, they are all set up optimally for your case.

I hope that helps. If you have questions, please ask. We are here to help.

    Hi Nigel
Thanks for giving details on International Targeting and reviewing HREFLANG.

I posted my Question 1 (sitelink issue) in your Facebook group and your admin gave the following answer:

“You can change that by updating all links on your homepage. If you still have links pointing to the subsite, consider updating them. Once Google sees the old link is gone, they will automatically remove it from the Sitelinks.”

Your admin is right, I have a link in the “Country Selector” of US Homepage that points to AU subsite site (that’s why AU link shows up in the site sitelink).

If I delete this link, visitors can not navigate to the AU site.
Is there any way I don’t change country selector links but solve the sitelink issue?

Please see the screenshot of the country selector here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WH4PlMotpfzLO9EQ7Pmv5kXgquNjJd70_6OdIMPfyaE/edit?usp=sharing

    Thanks

    Hello,

In that case, you should consider optimizing your homepage and adding the links that you wish to include in the sitelinks.

You should also ensure to properly optimize and increase the authority of the URL(s) that you want to include in the sitelinks.

When Google will crawl those links via the homepage, hopefully, the sitelinks would be updated.

You can also have a look at this guide for a quick reference:

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.
