Hello,
Thank you for contacting the support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
Please try setting up the plugin and your Google account again and make sure to follow closely the steps described here: https://rankmath.com/blog/google-indexing-api/
Once set up, you should also try the other method for inserting your JSON Key in the appropriate field on the Rank Math > Instant Indexing page: if you previously copy-pasted the file contents in the field, then try the file upload method and vice versa.
In case you require any further assistance don’t hesitate to get in touch.
I have done all that and the file is still not uploading and neither are the values pasting (once i click “save changes” the file disappears).
I have tried several times and have 100% followed all the steps (because I have also done it successfully on other websites, but on this 1 website the json code doesn’t save, it disappears once i click save changes
Hello,
Can you please try saving the settings in some other browser or in incognito mode?
If the issue persists, please share the JSON file using https://wetransfer.com/.
Then, edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/
You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/
We really look forward to helping you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hello,
Since this is a live website we didn’t deactivate any plugins but we recommend that you try to deactivate all the plugins and leave only the Instant Indexing plugin with a default theme and see if that helps.
Another thing we noticed is that you are using an unsupported version of PHP on both installations so we recommend that you also update that.
Lastly, try using a default .htaccess file to save the code.
Hope this helps solve your issues.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
thanks for the response.
I have upgraded php version and the problem still remains. also i highly doubt if php version is the issue because the other website that i use instant indexing with has the same php version and is working perfectly.
1. is there a way for putting the json file content via cpanel by editing a php file?
2. i don’t know how to use “a default .htaccess file to save the code” as you recommended. can you make this change for me? I have already backed up the 2 websites. or you could tell me how to do this
Thank you
Hello,
Since the new integration of the plugin into our existing Instant Indexing for Bing, we require that before you install the plugin to achieve this on Google you enable the module first.
After we deactivate the Instant Indexing module we found that you had not done this for these websites.
We enabled that, activated the plugin, and added the JSON code that you shared with us.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
Am sorry but i didn’t understand what you meant. Did you mean that i should enable the instant indexing module on the rankmath homepage before or after i install instant indexing? please clarify when the module should be activated/deactivated
Hello,
First, you should enable the module of Instant Indexing under WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard and then install the Instant Indexing plugin for the Google API.
On these websites, those steps are already taken and we also added the JSON code already, as you can see from the Instant Indexing options.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
Thanks so much for the help.
