Stopping Cron Jobs when moving from Yoast

    Rank Math free

I recently switched my SEO plugin from Yoast to RankMath. I realize my question is more related to Yoast than RankMath but I suspect you’ve come across this before, and since I’m abandoning Yoast I’m not sure their support will be too helpful.

I’ve noticed that every 6 or 7 seconds the server is trying to access Yoast related data via cron job. Since Yoast has been deleted, a 404 error is being encountered. This happening every 6 or 7 seconds puts unnecessary strain on the server.

Do you know of a way this can be stopped?

  • Hello,

You can use the WP Crontrol plugin to delete the unneeded cron event: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-crontrol/

Hope that helps. If you have any question, please feel free to ask. Thank you.
