    My site is experiencing a huge slow down since the latest update.

    I’m hosted by WP Engine. This is what WP Engine said:

    “The second slow query we see here is instead being caused by RankMath, and once again, it’s attempting to access the postmeta table.

    It’s evident here that a lot of your slowdown is definitely coming from the postmeta table and how many tables it currently has, so I’d strongly advise optimizing it and reducing the number of tables as much as possible, and then go on to investigate RankMath and anything else that might be trying to write to postmeta to slow that down as well.”

    At this time I have disabled the plug-in until we hear back from you.

    Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

    In your other ticket, you had asked about deleting the postmeta tables that were coming from Yoast.

    Is the issue persisting even after that? Do you think you can share the size of your postmeta table so we know what we are dealing with here? Or perhaps more information on the issue from WP Engine would go a long way in determining what exactly the issue is all about.

    Actually the site was slow then and as we were doing clean up, we decided to clean up our plugins tables.

    As we were cleaning and having the WP Engine team take a deeper look.

    I will be connecting with WP Engine this evening and I will have that information for you.

    As of now, the post_meta table is 2,940,504

    Have you contacted WP Engine about the slow-down issue as well? It would be helpful for us if they gave you specific information about the slow-down of your website.

    With that said, we might need to take a closer look at your admin dashboard. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & phpmyadmin logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

    Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

    Yes. I did contact WP Engine about the slow down.

    Essentially, Rank Math came up in the logs. I have screenshots, but your form doesn’t allow me to send them.
