Here is the screenshot of settings for redirection which i have done in my website.. can you please tell me that this setting is ok or not? : https://ibb.co/zrT1KwG

  • Hello,

Thanks for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

It makes sense to redirect the incorrect URL to the correct URL to get the SEO benefit. While 404 errors don’t affect your website search engine rankings, they are a wasted opportunity to improve your website’s SEO. Although you should not blindly redirect every 404 page to your homepage.

The best way to handle irrelevant 404s is to mark them as 410 using Rank Math.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

You want to mean, i should not redirect 404 pages to homepage..? am i right?

    Hello,

Yes, instead of redirecting them to the homepage, you should mark them as 410 content deleted from WP Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Redirections > Redirection Type. This will let the search engines know that the content no longer exists and the URLs will soon be removed from the search results.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any further assistance.

Thank you so much for helping me 🙂
