Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.
I’ve checked the URL, and it seems that the Featured image you used is a .webp file.
Please ensure that the image file format you are uploading is only between jpeg, gif, or png as per Opengraph Standards.
Also, make sure that the image you are using has the recommended image size. Recommended image size is as close as 1200 x 630 pixels.
Once done, clear your website’s cache and check again.
I hope that helps.
Thank you, and looking forward to your update.
Hi Reinelle,
Thanks for the message. The image was a png but I guess tinypng converted it and I didn’t realize.
I also didn’t know that featured images can’t be webp format, so I wouldn’t have thought of that. Thanks.
Andrew
Hi Reinelle,
Quick update: If I save the image as a jpg, it stays as a jpg on the website and displays as a featured image, perfectly fine.
If I save the image as a png, the website converts it to webp and that’s why I had that issue.
I guess I need to figure out why png are being converted.
Thanks.
Andrew
Hello,
Since you mentioned that the TinyPNG plugin is somehow converting/compressing the image to .webp file, you may need to check the settings of that plugin to stop it from converting the image or at least that specific image.
I’m not quite sure if you’re using this plugin as you mentioned. If so, you can head over to your WordPress dashboard > Settings > Compress JPEG > and select this option to prevent that plugin from automatically converting your images

I hope that helps.
Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you need further assistance with anything else.
Hi Reinelle,
I just use their website converter – tinypng.com
I’m actually Shortpixel’s plugin, which is likely the culprit.
I just disabled the option to create webp images, but that didn’t seem to fix it, so I will have to continue to look around.
Thanks.
