If you haven’t already, please download the Rank Math PRO plugin files from your registered account here:
https://rankmath.com/my-account/
Please go to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard > Help and click the connect/disconnect and then the connect buttons once the PRO plugin has been activated.
You will be redirected to RankMath.com, where you can log in and activate your license.
The free version of the plugin does not need to be removed. The PRO edition will have all of the features.
In order to have a pleasant experience with Rank Math PRO, make sure there are no Ad-Blockers installed in your browser or that your page is excluded.

I have rankmath added as a plugin but when i go to connect my account it only shows the free plan not the pro plan that my client purchased.

Your Rank Math account is under the Free version.
You will need to log in to your client’s Rank Math account to download the PRO plugin and install it on the site. Once done, you need to connect the site to the paid Rank Math account.
