Today I was surprised that the title that appears in the search engine is the title of the internal article! And not the title of Rank Math that I wrote.. which is definitely different from the title of the internal article!!

So, is this a bug in RankMath Plugin or what!! Please reply and help as soon as possible.. Thanks

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Please check if your title/description is properly set up in the page source, you can use this tool to check: https://www.heymeta.com/

If it matches your settings, then you must check if Google has seen the changes already or not.

For that, please check when the Google cache was updated for that page:
    a. cache
    b. cached

If the cache date is from before adding the new meta description, then you just have to wait for Google to re-crawl and re-index the page with the new info. If the date is after you made the changes, then you just have to wait it out and there is no further input needed from your end.

Do note that if everything’s fine and Google still decides to show a different meta title/description for your search keyword, there is nothing you can do as Google sometimes ignores the custom meta info altogether and show something from the page’s content that matches the search intent better.

Here are some of the common reasons Google might not use the meta description you provided:
The meta description is not relevant or useful (ie, just a collection of keywords).
The exact same meta description is provided across a large number of pages.
The meta description doesn’t match what the user is searching for, but other content on the page does.

There is a whole article dedicated to this on SearchEngineJournal:
    https://www.searchenginejournal.com/google-offers-suggestions-for-avoiding-meta-description-rewrites/359884/

Here is an example showing Google changes title depending on the keyword used:
    description
    &
    description 2

The best you can do is optimize your meta tags to try and match the intent of the search/keyword.

Hope that helps. If you have any further question(s), please let us know.

sir i don’t talk about meta description !! i talk about main title!… there is 2 type of title for article … inside tittle and rank math tittle .. right?

the inside tittle is showing in google search engine, Although the title of the RankMath Plugin should appear! .. that’s what I am talking about

At the moment I confirm that I also have this problem on the site I manage, after their last update (I had in fact contacted their support without obtaining a solution to the problem). In my opinion the problem is caused by a plugin bug or that google has made some updates.

    Hello,

I’ve checked the URL you have shared, and the title is already showing correctly.

    Title

As my colleague mentioned above, it is entirely up to Google to decide what they want to show in the SERPs. There is nothing you can do as Google sometimes ignores the custom meta info altogether and show something from the page’s content that matches the search intent/query/keyword better.

@L’occhio We have already replied to your other ticket about the same issue. Please continue there if you have further questions so we can advise accordingly.

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.

i mean H1 Tittle is showing, not rankmath tittle .. u can check again .. thanks

    Hello,

Rank Math setting will only change the <title> in the header section. If you want to change the <h1> title, you can configure it from the Post editor.

    Hope that helps. Thank you.

    hey

recently google started generating their own title, maybe that is the problem you see or you should check your meta title and page title.

Thats right!, and i didnt know how rankmath support dosn’t know about this update!! .. any way thanks

    Hello,

We already know about this and it is just that Google has updated their way of generating the title.

For a long time, Google ignores the custom meta info and uses content from the page if that matched the search intent (query) better.

The only solution to this is to further optimize the titles to better match the search intent of the users.

    Hope this clarifies things further.

    Thank you.

    Hello,
