Hello,
FYI (no need for a reply):
It’s great that we can now select a primary category for each post. And it’s working just fine in the posts themselves.
However, when saving/refreshing the “post edit” page (WP backend), the primary category isn’t show as the “selected” one.
For instance:
We create the category NEWS.
*Next*, we create the category BOOKS.
NEWS would automatically be selected as the primary category because it was created earlier.
BUT … we’ve selected BOOKS as our primary category.
Ok, so that works just fine in the post itself. Visitors will see BOOKS as the primary category in breadcrumbs.
But on the backend, after refreshing the page, the person editing the post will see NEWS right under “Select Primary Term” – thus implying that NEWS was our selection.
This discrepancy – frontend showing the selected primary category in breadcrumbs vs. backend *not* showing the selected primary category at the top of the “primary term” menu – is a little confusing because it looks like the plugin has not saved our selection, even though it *has*.
Perhaps in a future plugin update you’ll be able to ensure that the selected primary category will be the one shown right under “Select Primary Term.”
The ticket ‘Primary Category issue on the backend’ is closed to new replies.
