That was a canned answer that didn’t answer either of my questions.
Hello,
Thank you for contacting the support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
We apologize for the confusion. The last reply is actually not from our staff.
Back to the issue:
I want to use the autodetect video and automatic thumbnail generation by Rank Math. However, some of my posts contain multiple videos (often that aren’t my own) which Rank Math is also marking up. I only want to markup my own video so the other videos don’t appear in search results. Is it possible to use the auto features but only add schema to specific videos?
unfortunately, you can’t selectively auto-detect videos to add schema to specific video items present in your content. When this option is enabled, Rank Math will detect all supported video type no matter who owns that video.
To resolve this you would need to manually remove the video schema which you don’t need to be seen on the search engine.
I also noticed that if I enable autodetect video, I am able to embed a video without showing a video title/description on the blog post. But if I add video schema manually and use the shortcode, it forces me to show the video title + description on the post which I prefer not to show. Is there a way around this?
The shortcode displays the title and description whenever you insert it in the content, unfortunately, there’s no option to remove it. You can use CSS to hide it as a workaround.
Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
