Hello,
Thank you for contacting us and we regret the inconvenience caused.
Could you please share the affected URL so that we can investigate further?
In the meantime, please ensure that you’ve used an image of the recommended dimensions (i.e, 1200px X 630px) and of the supported image types (i.e, jpeg, png, and gif).
Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Hi Prabhat,
All WordPress pages URLs are affected, however this only happened in the last few days. Haven’t had any problems since moving over to RankMath over a year ago.
The images are supported file types, however the dimensions may not be exact. This is not the issue though, as it was never a problem up until a few days ago – it just pulls the featured image from the website.
Here is the URL I am trying to post: https://dukesavenue.com/luxury-vegan-shoes/
Hello,
I checked the page’s source and found that there are multiple og:image
tags. Please have a look at this screenshot for a quick reference: https://i.rankmath.com/zga6zJ
Multiple og:tags
confuse social media platforms about which tag to honor. Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.
To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/
Here is a video you can follow as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcIWRhcUP2c
Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.
Once you find the plugin/theme adding the additional og
tags, please disable its og
tags and other SEO-related features. Further, clear your website’s cache and see if the issue gets fixed.
Please let us know how that goes.
Thank you.
Hi Prabhat, it would appear that a plugin called Grow by Mediavine is the cause of the additional og:image tags according to page source. This is very strange as I made no change to the Grow settings – I did however add a Facebook app ID to RankMath settings so I’ll remove this and see if it reverts to how it was.
Could you please advise how to clear my website’s cache?
Hello,
If that plugin is adding the additional og:image
tags on your site, you can get in touch with their development team to assist you in disabling those.
Most caching plugin offers a quick option on the admin toolbar on your site to clear your website’s cache. You can check this link for more information:
https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-clear-your-cache-in-wordpress/
I hope that helps.
Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you need further assistance with anything else.
Hi Reinelle,
I don’t want to disable the og:image tags coming from the other plugin… I want to turn off the Facebook Id App in RankMath, so I am contacting the RankMath developers.. ie this support function.
Hello,
The Facebook app id is not something that we create, rather, as per the requirements of Facebook, we provide an option to add it. If you wish to remove the app id, then you can do so from your WordPress admin area > Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Social Meta > Facebook App.
However, please note that removing the app id would make no difference.
There should not be duplicate OG tags in the source as they confuse the social media platforms about which tags to honor.
Hope that helps.
Thank you.
