Analytics code not inserted

I recently rebuilt my site from scratch in Elementor, and am trying to use Rank Math insert my Google Analytics code. Although it has authenticated OK and let me pick me website from the GA list, I do not:

    – see the GA code being inserted (have checked the box to do so)
    – am not seeing any past GA data.

As a side note — this WP install originated as a template install I have that I cloned to use as a foundation. RankMath was installed in that. So, from RankMaths’s perspective the domain has changed but I never connected RankMath from the original template site.

I’ve tried disconnecting/reconnecting and using the Rank Math DB tools to remove transients, flush the cache, rebuild the tables and rebuild the index.

    Any thoughts?

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

I checked your website’s page source and indeed there’s no analytics code added to your website’s frontend: https://i.rankmath.com/B9oeyu

Could you please clear your website cache and see if this fixes the issue?

If that doesn’t help, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress login in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

I did try clearing all cache (using Breeze and Cloudflare) and the code still will not display. Other changes I make to the site do stick.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I’m attempting to conduct a plugin/theme conflict troubleshooting by following this guide.

But it seems to be obstructing your database connection which is very strange.

Could you please share your FTP login as well so we can revert it back to a working state?

We are looking forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

For some reason my MySQL service stopped working all of a sudden — I am investigating. This might be the cause of the database connection issue.

The DB server is back up.

Actually – hold off for a few more — the DB server crashed again. Something is causing the server to spike to 100% CPU load in the past hour. We are debugging.

OK – the DB issues should be resolved. The Backup plugin was tweaking causing the load. I’ve uninstalled and will reinstall after we get RankMath sorted out.

Just wanted to let you know in case it wasn’t clear that the site is ready for you to go back in and debug as soon as you have a chance.

    Hello,

We apologize for the unexpected delays. I did some troubleshooting on your site and the issue persists even with only Rank Math and the default theme enabled.

In this case, could you please ensure that your Analytics property is only using “Universal Property” and no GA4 is involved?

If you are able to update that, then reconnect your Google service once again, rebuild the index and see if this fixes the issue.

If the issue persists, do let us know and we will further investigate this with our dev team.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Yes, that is correct. Eventually – after trying everything to make Rank Math I made a GA4 property to see if that would help but have since disconnected it.

My suspicion is that this may have had to do with the site being installed on another domain at one point. Perhaps some hidden configuration or assumption in the database tables for RankMath might be out of whack.

I haven’t tried deleting RankMath entirely and reinstalling, but am trying to avoid that because I’ve already populated meta data.

I recently added RankMath to another site and the whole thing went smooth. On this site, I’m never getting the message where it says it will take X minuted to import the data.

I’ve done what you asked and still no luck – I even revoked RankMath access at Google start as fresh as possible. Here is what I did:

    – Revoked Rank Math access at Google
    – Disconnected from Google in Settings
    – Reconnected to Google, giving RankMath all permissions.
    – Selected my profiles, checked the box to include code
    – Rebuilt the Analytics index in Tools.

Same results – I never got a message about it taking some time to import data like I did when I set this up on another site that I have.

    Any thoughts?

    Hello,

The data seems to be populated in the Rank Math dashboard, Here is the screenshot:
    https://i.rankmath.com/S5IA2N

Also, now the Analytics code is visible on your website:
    https://i.rankmath.com/6iRIGn

If you are not able to see the code, please kindly clear your web browser cache and try again.

Hope that helps. Thank you and please donโ€™t hesitate to contact us if you need further assistance.

I take that last bit back – it seems to be working now. I’m seeing the code display on the front end.

Where is the best place to look in Rank Math to see if it is reporting Analytics data?

Thanks for your help! Not sure what step fixed it, but at least it is working ๐Ÿ™‚
