I have three warnings from a product review URL (used Product Schema). I want to rectify these errors. Please guide me to solve these issues.

    1. Missing field ‘aggregateRating’ (optional)
    2. No global identifier provided (e.g. gtin, mpn, isbn) (optional)
    3. Invalid price format in property ‘price’ (optional)

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Rank Math takes the schema data from your product pages automatically and turns it into Schema-ready content. Likewise, the aggregateRating and review fields are taken from your actual product reviews that your buyers/customers leave on your products.

If you don’t have any reviews yet, that is going to show up as a warning in the schema testing tool. That’s because Google will actually look for those fields.

Please acquire some reviews and ratings to get rid of the aggregateRating and review warnings.

We have an option to select the Global Identifier in the PRO plugin, for now, you can fix it by adding that to your products using the custom product attribute feature in WooCommere or you can use this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/product-gtin-ean-upc-isbn-for-woocommerce/

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hey,

I’m using an affiliate product and have written a blog post review on it. So the product isn’t mine. What do I do now?

    Hello,

Thank you for getting back to us.

Usually with affiliate products if you do not have fields to fulfil that is similar to an actual product we do not recommend using product schema.

Also if you have submitted a review of the product that is not considered as a user review. Those are self-serving reviews that are prohibited by Google once you use a schema that has review properties.

To better provide a good recommendation on the step to take, we might want to check the affiliate product you are talking about here. Please share the link in the sensitive data section if you do not mind.

We are looking forward to helping you.
    Thank you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

I would like to know what schema I must use when doing an affiliate review of a product. If it’s a course review, I’ll use course schema but if it’s a app subscription/product/service, what schema should I use?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your reply.

When you are reviewing a product may that be an affiliate product. You can use product schema in your post/page.

We have a guide for the same here:

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

Hey but then I get errors from Google Search Console. Please check my errors above. So what should I do to solve that?

    Hello,

Thank you for getting back to us.

Upon checking your page shared in the sensitive data section below, I have noticed that the page is not a product page as it does not have fields specifically meant for the product.

With the Product schema, the main required properties include the Price which is what your page lacks. Also, there are no user-generated reviews for your page there.

For better recommendation, your page here seems to be an affiliate on a software or app kind of thing. Therefore I will recommend you to go for the Software schema type or the Article schema type.

We do have a guide on this here:https://rankmath.com/kb/software-schema/. Please make sure that all fields are fulfilled to avoid warnings and errors in the rich results tool.

Hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
    Thank you.

But in this article – https://rankmath.com/kb/review-schema/
“When you are reviewing a product may that be an affiliate product.”
Product is hyperlinked and it took me to the product schema page.

So that means for affiliate products I must use product schema

    Now I’m confused, Please help!

    Hello,

Thank you for getting back to us.

Usually, it is recommended that you use the schema type based on the type of content that you have.

You may still opt to use the product schema as well if you have the product schema fields on your page. This will help in the validation of the schema in the rich results.

However for best results, if your page here is about software then you can go for the software schema. With our PRO plugin, you can make use of the two schema types as well.

Hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions for us.
    Thank you.

What if I use article schema for the same? Will it rank low?

    Hello,

Thank you for getting back to us.

No, it will not Rank Low by using the article schema. To be clear, schema itself isn’t a Google ranking factor. This means that you shouldn’t expect a rankings boost simply because you added schema to your page.

However, it can help you to rank. Think of it as additional content that search engines can read, that also help it understand what your content is about.

Therefore if you used a more specific schema related to your content, search engines are able to understand your content better.

To further clarify on schema type to use on your page, for instance, both article and Software or product schema are good for your affiliate content here, only that one has reviews property while the other does not.

Review snippets can be used to raise your trust signals to both search engines and users hence higher ranking. But if you do not intend to collect reviews on that page then you do not have to go for the software or product schema.

In favour of the software schema, it plays a significant role in adding more information about the app you are talking about on the page.

Hope this clarifies your question. Please do let us know if you have any other queries.

    Okay thank you!
