Hi, My site is hosted with godaddy managed wordpress hosting, I have manually deleted the robots.txt file from the site, but still rankmath shows the robots.txt file as hosted on root folder.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

It does look like you have a physical robots.txt file is present inside your root installation.

    Please see the screenshot:

You can learn more about here:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/cant-edit-robots-txt/

Please do check again and do let us know how that goes.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

Yes that’s weird, spoke with godaddy support, apparently it takes 60 minutes to delete the file from the server even after I delete it using FTP. Will check after a while and revert if the issue still persists.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Im having a peculiar issue, when rank math is enabled the robots.txt file shows

    User-Agent: *
    Disallow:

when rankmath plugin is disabled it shows the below,

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /wp-admin/
    Allow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php

Im not sure why this is happening,

Im on managed wordpress hosting on godaddy.

    thanks

    Hello,

    Thank you for your reply.

The following rule was showing because you must have added them through Rank Math’s robots.txt editor.

    User-Agent: *
    Disallow:

I have deleted that rule and now you can check the robots.txt file. It’s working.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Its working now thanks
