Google Analytics Settings Don’t Save

#216923
  • I can see my account(s) in the first drop down after I connect my account. I can see my properties (I have quite a few) in the second drop down. I select “All Website Data” in the last drop down, and to install the code (only plugin that installs the code).

Even when I don’t install the code, when I click save these options don’t appear to be saved at all. When the panel reloads all the drop downs are still blank. I’m unsure if I’m fully connected or delivering the code.

I checked the network log, and there are no 404s or pages being blocked. All other panels work correctly.

EDIT: I do not see the code on the front end while logged out.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Are you using Firefox or Safari to save the settings?

If yes, can you please try saving the Analytics settings in Chrome?

After enabling the Install Analytics code option you can see the Analytics tracking code by checking the page source of your website. Search for gtag or UA- in the code.

Let us know if the issue persists in Chrome.

We are here to assist you.

I was using Firefox before. Two things seemed to have made it work, to further complicate the issue.

The first was switching to Chrome, which at first *didn’t* work either.

But the second was, I turned off my litespeed cache plugin, which I had set to NOT cache objects in wp-admin, but I thought I’d try to just turn it off entirely. As soon as I turned it off, everything was set correctly.

I believe you are correct in thinking it’s a Firefox/Safari issue, but it’s also an issue with LiteSpeed Object Cache set at the network level even when it’s set to not cache wp-admin.

It is fixed now, thank you for your help and suggestion.

    Hello,

We’re glad the issue is resolved.

We have noticed this issue where some users are not able to save the Analytics settings in Firefox and Safari.

We are checking this internally, but your feedback has really been helpful to determine if this is really something happening on Firefox and Safari and with LiteSpeed Object Cache. We will update you when we find a fix for this.

If you have any other questions in the future, please feel free to create a new forum topic, and it will be our pleasure to assist you again.

    Thank you.
