Hi, How do I exclude the cart and checkout pages from the sitemap? I don’t have any exclude options in the general settings.

Hello,
Thanks for contacting us.
By Default, Rank Math sets your cart and checkout pages to
noindex
and excludes them from the sitemap. If they are still being included in the sitemap then please edit your cart and checkout pages and in the Advanced tab of Rank Math’s meta box, set robots meta to
noindex
.Once done, flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDpExclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/That should fix the issue. Please let me know if that does not. We are here to assist.
Is it advisable to exclude them ( cart, checkout pages and forget password page )from Sitemap as it could be a coverage issue as per google as it shall be not able to index .
Pl advice
Hello,
If you set those pages as
noindex
, then yes, of course, google will not index those pages and that exactly that you want. If you are concerned about indexing other parts of your website, you have a sitemap already for that.Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
But google are showing it as critical error on console and asking to fix it .
What is SOP ?Hello,
I’m assuming that you’re getting a
submitted urls marked noindex
error in your Google Search Console account for these pages. Please correct me if I’m wrong. If this is the case, since Google is still seeing your previous sitemap where they are included, then this error message will pop up.
To fix this, please remove all your submitted sitemaps from your Google Search Console and resubmit your primary/main sitemap only /sitemap_index.xml, then give Google some time to recrawl your whole website.
I hope that helps.
Thank you.
This doesn’t seem to be the case for me… My Checkout and cart are both in the site map, but are marked as noindex. I can’t see where to change this, so it’s not included in the sitemap…
Hello,
Could you please confirm if you have followed the steps to refresh your sitemap provided by my colleague? If so and the cart and checkout page are still in your sitemap, then we may need to check this one over your admin settings.
