If I exclude some domains using this box “Nofollow Exclude Domains”, the links are still carrying the nofollow rel.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Could you please share the page URL and the domain you wish to exclude so we can check it on our end?

We are looking forward to helping you.

Find the below keyword on the page that links to Google.

    Search engines like Google search

    Hello,

Thank you for keeping in touch with us.

I can note that the nofollow is still applied to the link.

I noticed that you have added only google.com in the “Nofollow Exclude Domains” field and the URL in the anchor tag has www in it. Please ensure to add this in the settings: www.google.com. That should fix your issue.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

http://www.google.com > this is a sub-domain (not a domain). This is definitely a bug. It should work with the domain as well.

I’m currently using this plugin on my other sites and it works as it should.

What if I want to exclude all Google subdomains? like https://images.google.com, https://mail.google.com

    Hello,

Thanks for getting back to us.

The www version of a domain does not constitute a subdomain, it’s just another variation of the same domain.

Having said that, you’ll need to add all the subdomains and domain variations that you’d want to exclude to have this setting take effect.

Hope this helps clarify your doubts.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

No, that is not something workable. You should consider removing the exclude nofollow domain feature if it will stay the same.

In that case, I’ll just use the plugin I shared i.e https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-external-links/.

This plugin will allow me to add a root domain like google.com or *.google.com and that’s it.

    Thanks anyways.
