Gravity Forms conflict

    Hi,

It appears that when gravity forms on my site is enable I get a conflict with generating the sitemap_index.xml. It just shows a white page. I get a bunch of console errors and it seems like the page is still generate but isn’t rendered.

I have done some debugging which is why I am able to pinpoint the fact it is gravity forms.

  • Hi,

Managed to do some further investigation, it seems like in a recent GF update. From version 2.5.2 to 2.5.4, it has managed to add something that is now conflicting with your sitemap generation.

Not sure who this needs to be provided to, hopefully this additional information helps

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for the delay and for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

I’ve checked your sitemap, and it seems to be opening fine on our end.

Could you please confirm if you have already applied the previous version of Gravity Forms on your site?

To further investigate the issue, we may need to replicate it on our end. Since your site is live, I would recommend creating a staging site where the same issue exists. This will also avoid your site getting any issues upon testing and investigating.

Here is a guide that could be really useful for you on how to create a staging site: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-staging-environment-for-a-wordpress-site/

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

The site I previously sent across is a staging site.

Yes to clarify I have already reverted back to an older version of Gravity Forms. The version the site is on now is version 2.5.2 whereas the version that breaks the sitemap is version 2.5.4.

I have updated the plugin now on the same url and as you will be able to see once you hard refresh is that it now no longer shows the sitemap.

    Thanks

    Hello,

Thank you for keeping in touch with us.

I checked your sitemap and it seems there is another plugin that is causing conflict with Rank Math’s sitemap and it looks like it is stemming from Hummingbird Performance. Please see the screenshot in the Sensitive Data section.

Please exclude your sitemap links on your Hummingbird plugin and see if the issue goes away. You may refer to our guide here: https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemap-hummingbird-cache/

Let me know how that goes. We are looking forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data with a screenshot showing that this is already active in hummingbird.

Like I said during debugging of this issue I fully uninstalled hummingbird and removed all caching. It was when I removed Gravity forms / reverted back to version 2.5.2 that it stopped being an issue

    Thank you.

    Hi,

I have updated the sensitive date with another sitemap for a development site we similar to the previous I sent but doesn’t yet have hummingbird on. This has the same issue due to the version of Gravity Forms.

If it isn’t GF then looking forward to finding a solution but based on my debugging and the fact it happens on 2 sites with the same setup of gravity forms it does seem like there is some conflict.

    Thanks

    Hello,

    Thank you for the update.

It seems that Gravity Forms already released a stable version 2.5.4.3 regarding the fix for sitemap issues. Could you please try updating it to that version and check if the issue still persists?

Here’s their changelog for your reference:
    https://docs.gravityforms.com/gravityforms-change-log/

    I hope that helps.

Thank you, and looking forward to your update.

    Perfect Thank you
