    Rank Math free

    Hi

After 6 months of owning an affiliate site, I’ve just realized my links are being changed before they reach amazon resulting in me not earning any money at all.

I’ve been chasing Elementor for one week and this is what they had to say. (below)

Unfortunately this side of a website I do not understand but visually my links are being changed via the text section in elementor. Below is the response from Elementor technical

I would appreciate a quick response as I’m losing money

    Thanks
    Lee

    Hi Lee,

Thank you for the elaboration. I can understand your concern and yes, it is indeed what I found when accessing your site.

However, I noticed that the link in the “Text” tab is a Rank Math link. Please watch this video https://www.loom.com/share/5685beed39fe4d8da87b30a5272ea91b.

Kindly note that by default, Elementor does not alter or change links added from this widget.

Although, the Text Editor widget is a TinyMCE WYSIWYG editor that behaves just like the classic WordPress visual editor.

Since this is a WYSIWYG Editor, Elementor does not have full control over the generated links from this widget since the functionalities are inherited. This refers to both the text and visual tabs.

    https://elementor.com/help/text-editor-widget/

It looks like Rank Math is affecting your links that may have altered your affiliate links inserted in the said widget.

I would recommend you contact Rank Math and see if they can assist you with this. https://rankmath.com/

Let us know if you need further assistance related to Elementor and its existing features or if Rank Math needs our assistance, they can coordinate with our developers at https://github.com/elementor/elementor/issues.

    Hello,

Thanks for contacting us and we regret the inconvenience caused.

I’m not sure whether I fully understand the question. Could you please describe the issue that you are facing?

Could you please confirm if you’re referring to the class “rank-math-link” being added to the links of your website?

If yes, then as appearing in the screencast, the class is still there when Rank Math is disabled.

However, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include the affected URL and WordPress logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hi,
Thank you for such a speedy response.

Heres the issue ive been talking with elementor about:

So, i arrange my content on wordpress. I have RAnk Math attached to my WP. Whilst in WP i add my amazon affiliate link as normal.
Once Ive finished everything i need to do, i then edit with Elementor.
This editing page has a ‘Visual’ part, which is in plain English with pics and links highlighted. At this point, i cannot return to WP as im now editing with ELementor.
If i were to return to WP, the article breaks and causes all sorts of issues.
If for some reason i need to update or add any links in the future, i am no longer able to return to WP to add them, so i add the links via elementor.
Below is an example of a link on my article ‘Best Kids Guitar 2021’.
One is the coding from a link in the visual section, the second is from when you switch to text.

As you can see, there are differences in my amazon id:
    (visual) authoritygu08-20&link
    (Text) authoritygu08-20&amp

Unfortunately if i have a customer click the link on my site, the 2nd link is the one that goes through to amazon and its not valid. I know this because Amazon has a link tester for its affiliates. This means im not getting paid.

I have no idea how many of these links there are as ive been using rank math a while.

The message i sent you first of all was the correspondence from Elementor informing me it is a Rank Math issue.

PLease see link info and email i sent below

    Thank you
    Lee

1st link in Elementor text editor ‘Visual’

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07115SDGH?th=1&_encoding=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=authoritygu08-20&linkId=be73a7c1c8fbbcce450ab7ce6b08d92c&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl

Placing the above link into the Amazon associates ‘Link Checker’ confirms the link tag is a success for my associate ID.

If i now click the ‘Text’ tab in Elementor text editor, this is how the exact link reads:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07115SDGH?th=1&_encoding=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=authoritygu08-20&linkId=be73a7c1c8fbbcce450ab7ce6b08d92c&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl

As you can see by the text, they are different. My Amazon id is authoritygu08-20. After this text is where you’ll find the fault.

If i now paste the above link into my Amazon Link checker, it obviously fails! resulting in the my customer reaching the desired amazon page but i wont get any commission as the link is not a valid Amazon link.

This is something im obviously very concerned about as i have 100s of links Ive added via Elementor.

    Apologies

The second affiliate link should read this, not the one above:

If i now click the ‘Text’ tab in Elementor text editor, this is how the exact link reads:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07115SDGH?th=1&_encoding=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=authoritygu08-20&linkId=be73a7c1c8fbbcce450ab7ce6b08d92c&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl

    Hello,

    Thank you for your reply.

I am able to change the link without any problem. Please kindly check the screenshot I have shared below:
    http://prnt.sc/135u5p8

I went ahead and created a new private post and added the same affiliate link through elementor, which you will find inside your dashboard, and that works too.

    Screenshot:
    http://prnt.sc/135uubi

I would suggest you to create a redirection rule for the affiliate links.

    Looking forward to helping you.
