I run a Restaurant directory website similar to Yelp. How do I change all of my listings from “off” to “restaurant” I already set it up as default schema but its not working. I have way too many listings to be able to do one by one. Is there a simple process of changing all from off to restaurant?
Thank you

Hello,
Thank you for contacting the support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
I can only suggest using the Schema Template feature offered by our PRO plan. This feature offers the creation of a custom schema that you can automatically add to multiple pages or posts.
You may read more about it here: https://rankmath.com/kb/rich-snippets/#introducing-schema-templates-supercharging-schema-pro
Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
Hi there,
I am not sure if this is a helpful advice. You are asking me to try a upgrade and pay for premium product when the schema generator is something you already offer in your free version. From what I can see, it is more of some technical issue, I went through the above link and don’t see how paying for it should fix the exact issue I am having.Hello,
Thanks for getting back to us.
Even if you change the default schema for those post types that setting will only apply to newly created entries. The previous ones will remain unchanged to prevent any unwanted deletions or issues when switching schemas.
In order to change the schema for all your existent posts, you need to either create a global schema template like my colleague mentioned or use the bulk edit options. https://rankmath.com/kb/bulk-editing-in-rank-math/#3-11-set-schema-markup-to-default-type-pro
Both those options are only available in the PRO version of Rank Math.
In the Free version, the only way to achieve this, for posts already created previous to you selecting the default schema, is by manually inserting the Restaurant schema to all the posts that require so.
Hope this helps clarify your doubts.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
Hi there. Thanks for responding. My issue is I have set the Restaurant schema from day 1. But even all my new created listings schema will show as “off” although it is set as Restaurant in schema settings and turned on.
If I manually try to insert restaurant schema again then it is doing it twice as Restaurant, Restaurant
Hello,
Thank you for the follow-up.
In this case, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/
You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

Thank you, and we really look forward to helping you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hello,
Thank you for getting back to us.
For this case, it seems like the schema is getting applied from the global settings you have chosen.
You may work with a workaround of having to include the schema in the individual post/listing, then make an update, and then delete the second added schema.
Meanwhile, I will forward this to our devs team to provide more insight.
Let us know if this works for you.
Thank you. Thanks for confirming the issue I am having. Yes, please have someone look into this and have this fixed for me.
Hello,
Thank you for the update.
Our dev team is already checking this issue and will get back to you shortly. We really appreciate your kind patience regarding this matter.
Meanwhile, please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime to assist you further with anything else.
Thank you.
Hello,
The first thing I want to mention is that setting a default schema other than Article will not automatically apply it. That setting is only available to be used with the bulk editing options when using the PRO version.
Although it shows in the schema tab when you select the listing, that will only be applied and saved in the database after you make some changes to that schema.
Now, going back to the other issue of duplicating the rich snippets when saving we tested this on our end and found that the plugin is generating double entries and saving them in the database.
Please get in touch with the plugin developers to see if they experienced this before, as they might already have an internal solution for the problem.
In the meantime, I made our dev team aware of the situation and we’ll also investigate from our side.
If you have any other questions don’t hesitate to get in touch. We are here to help!
Thanks.
“Please get in touch with the plugin developers to see if they experienced this before, as they might already have an internal solution for the problem.”
Who are the plugin developers and how do I get in touch with them?
Do I have to make another ticket?
Hello,
Sorry for the confusion, I was referencing the Hive Press plugin. That is the plugin that’s duplicating the Restaurant schema on your website. I was asking that you get in touch with them and see if they experienced this, as they might already have an internal fix for this.
As for the other issues of automatically setting the Restaurant schema on your listings, I already explained the situation. Only the Article schema will get automatically applied when changing the default schema.
For all other schema types setting a default schema on that option will only make it available to be chosen using the bulk edit options offered to our PRO users.
If you have any other questions don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Hi there. Is there any update from the developers for the duplicating issue.
Thanks
Hello,
Thanks for your reply.
Could you please confirm whether you’ve contacted the developers of the “Hive Press plugin” as suggested by my colleague? If yes, then please let us know what was their response.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks.
Yes. I contacted the developer. They indicated no conflicts with Rankmath. Please have dev team look into this issue of duplicate schemas.
Thanks again
