There’s also this:
No: ‘noindex’ detected in ‘X-Robots-Tag’ http header
Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.
The sitemaps are set to noindex
by default as you do not want them to appear in the Search Results.
Please submit the sitemap URL in the sitemaps section in the Search Console.
Let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
We look forward to helping you.
I also found this:
—————
One said from google console
The ‘noindex detected in the x-robots tag’ is no problem for the sitemap file itself.. It is normal practice to assign the ‘noindex’ to the sitemap file.
You do not want to show the sitemap file itself in the google Search results.
Search Console often shows ‘can not fetch’ when the sitemap file is pending (like it showed in the old console) in earch coneole.
I Understand. Couldn’t fetch means pending but how long take to index means show successful sitemap on search console?
————————
So is this true? If so how do I know Google is fetching the sitemap?
Hi Anas,
Your answer confused me a bit.
You said it’s not meant to index it.
Then you said submit it.
So as long as it says ‘read’ in GSC I’m ok?
And ‘Indexed, not submitted in sitemap’ for my URLs is normal?
Ken
Hello,
You only need to submit the sitemap_index.xml
in sitemaps section in the Search Console:
If you are getting couldn’t fetch error, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
https://rankmath.com/kb/couldnt-fetch-error-google-search-console/
Indexed, not submitted in sitemap is normal as the URL is already indexed but Google has not found it in your sitemap yet.
I hope this helps. Looking forward to helping you.
