Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for the delay and for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.
From your screenshot, it seems that you include the %category%
variable in the default meta title and description of your products. The %category% variable is used for WordPress post categories.
To get WooCommerce product categories, please use the %customterm(product_cat)%
variable then check the actual page’s source code if they are already included in the meta title and description.
You can also use this tool to check that as well: https://www.heymeta.com/
I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.
Is there any way that makes the plugin choose the lowest subcategory and not like now the highest category? And also is it any way to bulk/auto (prefer) select a subcategory (lowest) as “Make Term Primary”, have around 5000 products and is changing each day depending on our supplier.
Hello,
Thank you for the follow-up.
choose the lowest subcategory and not like now the highest category?
Do you mean choosing the lowest price or the positioning? Could you please add more details or screenshots about this?
However, to choose a primary term for your categories, please make sure that the Primary Taxonomy is already set to Product Categories in Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Products
![Primary Taxonomy](https://i.rankmath.com/CBswW6+)
I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hello again,
I want Typ: to appear in Meta or I want two product-categories in Meta in this attached image it’s “Herr” and “Sneakers. If using “Typ:” it’s “Herr” category and Gymnastikskor from the row “Typ:” in description (“Typ:” appear in all products)
Hello,
Thank you for that additional information, and sorry for the delay.
I’ve checked your screenshot, and it seems that you wanted to get a specific word in your product description. Unfortunately, the %customterm(product_cat)%
will only get the category selected as the Primary Term.
In this case, you may need to manually add the word Typ:
in the meta title or description. Here’s a list of our variables:

I hope that helps. Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you need further assistance.
Hello,
Link 🔗 doesn’t work and what I want is the word after Typ:
Hello,
Thanks for getting back to us.
The link my colleague provided should be accessible now.
Regarding your initial inquiry, unless the word that appears after “Typ” is somehow inserted via a custom field there is no way we can retrieve that value directly from the content.
Hope this clarifies your doubts.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you require any further assistance.
