Submitting post and main link sitemap in google console

    Hi, The main link with sitemap_index.xml already added, but for some reason, google console was showing post is not available in sitemap but updated.

    Now, I have also added post-sitemap.xml.

    Question: Since the site link with sitemap_index.xml already including the “post-sitemap.xml” link, will this effect my website or SEO negatively?

    I have shared the image link for your reference. Please check and help me accordingly.

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math.

    We recommend to only submit the sitemap_index.xml in the Search Console.

    If there are any issues with the sitemap in the search console.

    Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:

    Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

    That should fix the issue.

    I had followed your guidance, and the recommended value was 200 but I had to make it 201 (as per in the video) Will this leave any negative effect in my site SEO?

    Hello,

    You can change it back to 200 if you want as the value in the video was only to show you how to flush the sitemap cache. You don’t have to use the values shown in the settings of the site in the video.

    And no, it will not have any effect on your site’s SEO. You don’t have to worry about it.
