Ok, my rankmath is running but when I add sitemaps to bing and google I get errors. But there aren’t many details on what the errors are or how to fix them. What am I doing wrong?

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Can you please send a screenshot of the errors you are seeing on your end so we can further determine what’s causing the issue?

I tried testing your sitemap in an XML validator tool and it does not return any error but when I tried testing on HTTP status checker, it returns an error message:
    error

Can you please check this one with your hosting provider and see if they can help you with this issue?

Also, please make sure that you have verified the correct version of your website on the Google Search Console (http or https, www or non-www).

Let me know how it goes, we are looking forward to helping you.

I would love to, but am totally clueless on how to attach a screen shot to this thread.

    got it

    Hello,

    Thanks for sharing the screenshots.

Please try the solutions that my colleague suggested and let us know if that helps you in resolving the issue or not.

We are looking forward to helping you.

I’m a novice here and have a few clarifying questions.

    1. I’m not 100% sure what i’m supposed to be checking with my hosting provider or the right questions to ask. Am I specifically asking about http status or something more specific? What about that status? etc.?

    2. I have no idea how to know what the correct version of my website is to validate on the google search console.

    Hello,

    Thank you for the follow-up.

I’ve checked your sitemap, and it seems that you haven’t verified the www (or non-www) and HTTP (or HTTP) versions of your website and getting error status.
    Sitemap WWW HTTPS

In this case, please contact your web host provider to ensure that only 1 version of your sitemap is working (200 Ok status), and the rest are redirecting to it. You can also use this tool to check. Alternatively, you can follow the steps in this link:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/couldnt-fetch-error-google-search-console/#5-check-for-the-correct-version-of-the-sitemap

Please also ask them to check your website’s root directory if you have a static file with the same name as your sitemap file (sitemap_index.xml) and remove that file as your sitemap is getting an empty page.

Once done, ensure that your sitemap is already working. You can use this tool to validate your sitemap as well. If so, please resubmit your main sitemap only /sitemap_index.xml

I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.
