    Hi,

    is Rank Math adding a meta field to products where a special canonical url is set in the meat box? I want to bulk edit the canonical urls with Excel, and I am wondering if the canonical urls will be exported when using Woocommerce’s default export tool. I noticed a field called “rank_math_permalink” but this is probably something differenT (what is it? It does not have values added in my csv so it can’t be the default permalink of the product…)

    Thank you for getting in touch with us.

    Rank math adds self canonical URLs to your pages automatically from the product URLs so you may not have to add these.

    The only time you may have to add a canonical manually is for duplicate pages where you need to make it known to search engines that those pages contain duplicate content: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/advanced/crawling/consolidate-duplicate-urls

    I have a fresh installment of WP with no additional plugins other than Woocommerce and Rank Math, and Rank Math is not adding any canonical links in the source code, not even if I set them manually for a page/product.

    Could this be because the site is not live yet and in WordPress setting the site is set to noindex, nofollow?

    Thank you for getting back to us.

    Yes, you’re correct.

    You can verify this by unticking this option “Discourage search engines from indexing this site”. You can find this option here “Settings > reading”

    Please see the screenshot below:

    – Discourage search engine option

    – Canonical url appears once you untick the option
    ss-2

    Can you please let me know if Rank Math is setting canonical links for www. as well as the non-www domain?

    Hi there,

    Rank Math will set the canonical URL as you see it in the browser on the page or post you are viewing the page on.

    It uses what you have set in settings \ general site address option.
    Hope this clears things up.
