Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Please login to your web server via FTP and delete the robots.txt file present in the root folder.
It is the same folder where you have your wp-content, wp-admin
etc.. folders.
Once you delete the robots.txt file, Rank Math’s virtual robots.txt file will take over and you will be able to edit the robots.txt file without issues.

I have checked it, there is no robots.txt file. please find a snapshot for your ready reference.can I add robots.txt file at the defined place?

To edit your robots.txt using Rank Math, please head over to your WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Edit robots.txt:
If you’re unable to see that option, please make sure your Rank Math is set to Advanced Mode in Rank Math > Dashboard

1- Rank Math pro is in advanced mode
2- In a general setting, robot.txt is not editable
3- When checked in C-panel, robot.txt is missing in public_html file
let me know what to do, do I need to create robot.txt file and upload in public_html location. If no, then, please suggest to improve it further.

If you do not have a file present in the root folder and still not able to edit from Rank Math, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:
