Hi there,
I have issues indexing multiple pages of my site due to having a non-existent no-index tag. I have tried to reindex them multiple times but nothing happens.
I have checked each page and they don’t have the no-index checkbox ticked, so I don’t know why the issue continues.
Please I need help.
Thank you very much

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.
I did try to login into your WordPress but the credentials you provided seem to be incorrect.
Also, Please ensure that the noindex is not selected for Global or Posts meta:
Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
Hi Anas,
Thanks for reaching back.
I checked the meta and everything seems to be ok.
Please try to log in with the new credentials attached.
Thank you very much
Hello,
Thank you for following up, and I’m sorry for the delay.
I’ve also checked the pages you have provided, and it seems that they are already set as indexed, as well as in the page’s source code.
In this case, it would seem like there’s a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.
To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.
Let us know if you found the culprit.
I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.
Hi Reinelle,
Thanks for reaching back.
I don’t know how am I supposed to see if I am still having the issue while troubleshooting, if the issue is not visible at plain sight.
What I mean is that I can only replicate the issue if I try to request indexing from Google Search Console, since everything seems to be alright, but changes are only visible to me while troubleshooting.
How am I supposed to see what is causing the issue?
Thank you
Hello,
Thank you for following up.
You actually do have point in that. Upon further investigating, the URLs you have provided seem to be already included in your sitemap, and your robots.txt is already fine as well. You can confirm the URLs are not set to
noindex
by checking your meta tags here: https://smallseotools.com/meta-tags-analyzer/Are you using any cache plugin? You might empty the cache and then try to recrawl them again. In this case, Rank Math is outputting the index meta tag correctly on your pages.
I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hi there,
I have added screenshots to my Google Search Console. It’s in Spanish but it says pages can’t be indexed due to a no index tag in robots meta tag.
However, the other link to a Meta Tag Analyzer screenshot shows meta robots are set to INDEX.
I don’t have any cache plugin installed. At least not that I am aware of.
I appreciate your help.
Thank you
Hello,
Thank you for that additional information.
Could you please head over to Google Search Console and remove all the sitemaps submitted, then submit only your /sitemap_index.xml URL and give Google some time to recrawl your website?
Please let us know if the issue persists after a few days.
I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.
Hi Reinelle,
I did so and Google Search console identified the sitemap again instantly. It didn’t even required of some time to recrawl. The errors persist.
Any other ideas?
Thank you
Hello,
Thank you for following up, and sorry for the delay.
I’ve checked the screenshot you have provided, and it seems that the noindex tag is for your sitemap URL.
The sitemap file is always marked noindex since no one would like the sitemap file to be listed on the SERP. I’ve also checked the other URL, and it’s already showing in your sitemap, as well as in Google search results.
Could you please perform another URL test for one of your post links when Rank Math is activated?
I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.
Hi Reinelle,
RankMath has always been active on my site and all those URL have Rankmath active and are set to index. So I don’t think that’s the issue.
I am using RankMath on other sites I own, and I’m familiar with the plugin. I have never experienced this issue before.
Hello,
It seems the URL you checked was last crawled on Oct 11 2020.
Would you try this: click on
View Crawled Page
and check if the crawled meta data do contain the noindex meta as depicted: https://i.rankmath.com/dblwUBLet us know how this goes. Looking forward to helping you.
Hi Michael,
Thank you. Unfortunately, “view crawled page” is not clickable on any of those “no indexed” urls. It does show up on the Search Console, but it’s just not clickable.
Let me know.
Thank you very much, your help is much appreciated.
I’ve tried to click on “test published URL” (see screenshots attached on sensitive data) and everything seems to be okay (see the second screenshot link). In fact, it says that the URL can be indexed, but then I try to recrawl and the error persists.
I honestly don’t know what is going wrong here.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thank you
Hey guys,
I think I am finally getting some results here 🙂
I tried to click on Test Live URL as I mentioned before and Google showed they were indeed indexable pages. They once there I clicked on recrawl and, after a few hours, those pages were indexed 🙂
It seems it’s gonna be a bit of a manual process but at least we’re getting it to work.
Thanks for your time and help, it’s been super valuable.
