  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

WordPress does add “-2” to the end of your permalinks if it detects old content with the same name. This old content might be located in the trash, can you perhaps check or clear your trash?

Thank you. We are looking forward to helping you.

    Helo,

    I don’t have any article in Trash… 🙁

    Thank you so much,

    Hello,

I checked your post sitemap and it looks like you have added -2 in the permalink of the post.

Here is a screenshot for your reference:

I hope this helps. Looking forward to helping you.

    Hello,

many thanks for having a look.

No, I didn’t add it. It was added automatically.

Even now when I want to take out the -2/ and update the post, it keeps putting back the -2/.

How can I take it out? Why does it put the -2/ even if I take it away?

    Thank you so mcuh

    Hello,

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

Hello, I have added the wordpress login details

    Hello,

Thank you for keeping in touch with us.

Upon checking your post, it seems you have an image with the same name as your post, this image:

    https://visitsouthernspain.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/spanish-chicken-soup-recipe.jpg

Can you please try to re-upload this specific image file with a different file name and see if you are able to remove the -2 in your post’s permalink? This sometimes solves this kind of issue in most cases.

Let me know how it goes.

    Oh fabulous!!!

    It worked!!
    Thank you so much!
