    Rank Math free

    Google search console told me that some pages on my site were not indexed because they were marked with Noindex.
    In the WordPress Settings – reading I have allowed indexing.

    In the Rank Math settings as well.

    In the HTML code, some pages with Noindex show like this page:

    https://onlineshop24.com/akzeptanzvertrag-kreditkarte-bitcoin-paypal/

    <!– Suchmaschinenoptimierung von Rank Math – https://s.rankmath.com/home –>
    <title>Akzeptanzvertrag für Bitcoin, PayPal und Kreditkarte</title>
    <meta name=”description” content=”So beantragst Du einen Akzeptanzvertrag für Bitcoin, PayPal und Kreditkarte, um Online Zahlungen akzeptieren zu können.”/>
    <meta name=”robots” content=”noindex, follow”/>
    <meta property=”og:locale” content=”de_DE”>
    <meta property=”og:type” content=”article”>

    In the HTML code, follow is displayed for other pages:
    https://onlineshop24.com/wordpress-hosting/

    <!– Suchmaschinenoptimierung von Rank Math – https://s.rankmath.com/home –>
    <title>Wordpress Hosting</title>
    <meta name=”description” content=”Wordpress Hosting – Bei welchem Hosting Provider kann der Onlineshop betrieben werden und welche Voraussetzungen müssen erfüllt werden.”/>
    <meta name=”robots” content=”follow, index, max-snippet:-1, max-video-preview:-1, max-image-preview:large”/>
    <link rel=”canonical” href=”https://onlineshop24.com/wordpress-hosting/&#8221; />
    <meta property=”og:locale” content=”de_DE”>
    <meta property=”og:type” content=”article”>

    Index is enabled in Global Meta and Robots Meta.
    In all Post Types, the setting is disabled in product Robots Meta, so it should take over the General setting.

    I also looked at the individual page/post settings under Advanced. Robots Meta is set to Index here as well.

    However, it still comes up with different details on a wide variety of pages.
    Any suggestions on what else I can do?
    Thanks for the support
    Jens

  • Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

    I’ve checked the post you have provided, and it seems that it’s already showing in your sitemap. However, the noindex is indeed present in the page’s source code.

    Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

    To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:

    Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

    Let us know if you found the culprit.

    I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.

    Hi,
    that was very helpful.
    I was able to identify the culprit.
    It is the cart page in WooCommerce.
    I had included the shortcode on a few pages so that the cart would be displayed there as well.
    Have I prevented RankMath from indexing the cart page?

    Hello,

    Thank you for following up.

    We are glad you have found the culprit.

    Yes, Rank math to WooCommerce integration sets the pages myaccount, checkout, and cart pages to noindex by default, which seems to be the issue why the noindex tag was set automatically when you place the shortcode for your cart.

    I hope that helps. Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need further assistance.

    Hi,

    It makes sense that Google does not index myaccount, checkout and the cart page.

    But the problem is if I want to integrate the cart function (not the whole page) into other pages.
    I want to show shoppers the contents of the cart when one continues to shop.
    For this I integrate the cart function into the other pages. But these pages will also be set to Noindex.

    I would like to change that. From your answer I understand that it is not possible to edit it? Correct?

    Hello,

    This is dependent on how the cart function is added to your page. You may need to check with the dev team of the plugin you are using to add this function to make sure adding the cart to the pages doesn’t change them to appear as cart pages.

    Hope this helps.

    It is not a special plugin.
    It is just the Shortcode [woocommerce_cart] which i insert

    Hello

    The WooCommerce cart shortcode is used to define a page as a cart pages. Using it on your pages makes them appear the same.

    There are plugins that you can use to add the cart to your pages without having to use the cart shortcode such as the WooCommerce Side Cart.

    Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
