Error with creating sitemaps

Hello, when I try to add sitemaps to my website there is a problem with NGINX. Plugin stats this: “Since you are using NGINX, add this code to your NGINX configuration file if your Sitemap pages are not loading or you can ask your hosting support to add it. Click here to see the code.”

I have copied that code and gave it to hosting support and they have added it, and the problem still accures. When I try to add sitemaps to Google Search Console there is an error:

“We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit.
    Examples
    HTTP Error:
    404”

    What I need to do?

  • Hello,

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

Could you please check the following:
Is the sitemap working fine in your browser? You can check that by going domain(.)com/sitemap_index.xml

If the sitemap is working fine, you can try validating it on this link: https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/validate-xml-sitemap.html

You should also ensure ensure your sitemap is not cached by doing the following:

    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

When done with the above, remove the submitted sitemap(s) and resubmit only the main sitemap file(sitemap_index.xml) in your GSC; give it sometime to crawl.

If the issue persists, please share your sitemap URL in the sensitive section so we can check from our end.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Hello again.

The problem with a sitemap is resolved, however when I go to Google Search Console there are no impressions or traffic, and the first page was indexed like 10 days ago. When I go to the hosting account it shows that there is traffic, but when I go to the Google Search Console, it shows that there is no traffic. I know that it takes time, but not 10 days. This Is not my first website, I have a couple of websites in GSC but this is the first time this is happening.

Do you know what a potential problem can be, and if there is something I can do to fix it could you help me to fix it?

    Hello,

Thank you for keeping in touch with us.

Please check if your Google Analytics tracking code was set correctly on your website. This has been known to cause a false drop in traffic.

If the issue persists, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
