HI, I’m getting a lot of 404 errors almost all on the wp-emoji-release.min.js file.

What they have in common is also the strange URI. I don’t know if the is normal, but you see first the subpage adres, than de www and then path of the wp-eemoji file. I checked the presence of the file and it is there (with 0644 rights).
    here some examples:

  • Hello,

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

We only report the 404s. We do not have information on how or why they are generated. You can get further insight into them by enabling the advanced monitor at WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > 404 Monitor.
    https://i.rankmath.com/RLnjMD

That will give you more information like referrer and user-agent. You can use that information to track down the source or find out if it is just bots generating those errors.

You can also fix these errors by redirecting them to a related page on your website:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/fix-404-errors/

Or, you can add them to the exclusion list at WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > 404 Monitor > Exclude Paths
    https://i.rankmath.com/O2vmci

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

Hi, I understand that you make use of default answers. That’s efficient, but I would like to ask you to realy ready my question and not only scan some words.
As you can see in my log the advanced monitoring is already enabled. There are some strange URI’s and that is my question. Can you please take a closer look?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

wp-emoji-release.min.js is a WordPress file used to add emojis to your WordPress site. This was introduced since WP 4.2.

If you are not using this, you can remove this by following this guide: https://crunchify.com/not-using-emoji-on-your-wordpress-blog-stop-loading-wp-emoji-release-min-js-and-css-file/

That said, as my colleague mentioned, we do not control on the how or why any 404s are generated on your site. We only provide the monitor to assist you in identifying what URLs are causing 404s on your site.

    Hope this helps you. Thanks
