Installing on non indexed site

Hi, I have a site that I am working on that is not indexed by Google as I am not ready to actually “go live” by making it searchable. I installed Yoast with option b: site under constrictions and should not be indexed. I would like to switch to RankMath. While installing RankMath I know that it asks if I want to import Yoast settings. When I do that will there be a step that asks me if I want the site indexed? Or will it take the current setting no-index setting from Yoast? Or should I wait till the site is live to switch? I am nervous because I do not want to accidentally have Google index the site. Thanks!

I have successfully updated other live sites from Yoast to Rank Math but never for a in-process site. When I switched the other sites I do not remember being asked if I wanted the site indexed.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

When you import it will not ask if you want the sites to be indexed. It will take the current setting and import it.

When Import Settings is ticked, it will import plugin settings, global meta, sitemap settings, etc. When you tick Import Post Meta, it will import meta information of your posts/pages like focus keywords, titles, description, robots meta, OpenGraph info, etc.

Have a look at the screencast when I try importing: https://i.rankmath.com/E4ZfVo

I hope this resolves your issue.
