Hello,
Thank you for contacting the support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.
To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/
Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.
If the issue persists, please record a video screencast using a tool like Loom showing the troubleshooting and edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/
You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/
Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
We really look forward to helping you.
Hi, I did as suggested, so I found the problem is when I activate WPML and it happens only when I have a post or a page that is both English and Italian. It doesn’t happen when a post isn’t translated. Any idea what is causing the issue?
Hello,
We may need to take a closer look at your settings, please share your site and FTP access as shown in the previous reply.
Looking forward to helping you
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hello,
Your translation settings are set to duplicate the original article. This means that since all your posts are in English by default, your Italian translation is determined/duplicated from the English version.
You would have to disable content synchronization between the translations to edit each separately.
I created a test post with which I did not use the option to overwrite any content and as you can see in the screencast I have added in the sensitive section, the post keywords are added to each of the translations as expected separately.
P.S: You don’t have Elementor installed on the site you shared.
Please let me know if this makes your issue clear. Looking forward to assisting you.
Hi, can you please tell me the process you did? Because as far as I can see, in this way there are two different posts (one in Italian and one in English) – in this way Google can think they are duplicates and not translated.
I assume in this way, in the live website, it’s not possible to switch from English to Italian from the same post.
Can you give me more details please?
Hello,
The screencast in the sensitive section shows how I created and translated the test post.
In the case where you don’t wish to edit your posts and their translations separately as individual posts then you can use the Use WPML's Translation Editor which allows you to easily translate your post fields, check the screencast I have added in the sensitive section. Please note that in this case, the translation can only be edited in WPML Translations editor.
If you are still having an issue with this, please create a screencast using a tool such as https://www.loom.com to show what issues or where anything is unclear then we can assist you accordingly.
Looking forward to helping you
