    Hello Team Rank Math,

Finally I have found the bug that is giving the 404 error of sitemap. ‘Two things are worth noting’, first is that whenever a new post is being published along with creating a new category, then the sitemap is automatically becoming 404 pages.

Secondly, whenever the article is being scheduled and when it is being published automatically on its schedule time, the sitemap disappears at that time also.

Being the developer you should fix this bug as soon as possible…

    Thank You!!!

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for the delay and for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

If your sitemap gets an error 404 page, this seems to be an issue with caching. You may need to flush your permalinks and exclude your sitemap from your plugin or server caching. Please follow the steps below:

    1. To flush your permalinks, head over to your WordPress admin area, go to Settings > Permalinks, and hit the “Save Changes” button once, even if you didn’t make any changes to the page.

    2. Go to your WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Links and hit the “Save Changes” button once.

    3. Exclude your sitemap from being cached. You can follow the steps in the link below:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.

Why are you using same repeated word? I done all settings provided by you too many time. Sitemap becomes ok after doing above settings but whenever a new post is being publish by creating a new category, then the sitemap become 404 page.

And also when I schedule a post then the sitemap disappears just after article being published.

And I want to let you know,

I am not using any cache plugin. I am using only cloudflare and cloudflare is not caching sitemap by default. I also performed debug test but no any plugin found to be problematic.

I am planning to upgrade to paid plan but due to this problem my head is itching too much and it also affecting my indexing.

No doubt I love Rank Math plugin and its features but I think its a bug which is stonewalling in my step towards paid plans.

    Thank You…

    Hello,

    Sorry for the delay.

I’m not able to replicate the problems you’re facing.

Sitemaps are working fine with creating a new category and adding a new post to that category at my end.

Here is a screencast of the same: https://i.rankmath.com/GwYLCc

Let me know if this helps.

Thank you, and looking forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

Ok, but I am creating a new category in post section while writing a post. On the other hand, category is not included in sitemap from my side because I do not want to index categories.

    Hello,

It seems to be working fine on my end too: https://i.rankmath.com/8ViqZk

Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

If the issue persists, please record a video screencast using a tool like Loom showing the troubleshooting and edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
