I have built my Pages with the tagdiv composer. The Meta Description for the Pages I added in the normal Editor. But it doesn’t Show Up. It Shows Just some Text which is on the Page. The Meta Description works fine for the homepage and the single Posts. So it can’t be the Cache. The Page is online since July and it is indexed by Google. Can you please help me?

My Site is https://www.topfgartenwelt.com The Problem appears in mediakit and über uns.

    Greetings Kathrin

  • Hello,

    Thank you for contacting support.

RankMath does not fully support tagdiv composer right now but We have added API access to the content analysis in the Rank Math plugin to make content from page builder plugins readable by Rank Math ( such as the one in this case).

You would need to contact the developer of the plugin you mentioned by showing the following link:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/content-analysis-api/

Many known companies have already added the compatibility, as it takes a few hours:
    https://rankmath.com/compatibility/divi/
    https://rankmath.com/compatibility/elementor/
    https://rankmath.com/compatibility/themify-builder/
    https://rankmath.com/compatibility/page-builder-framework/
    https://rankmath.com/compatibility/flothemes/

We hope that helps. Please let us know if there’s anything else you need our assistance with. More than happy to help.

Thanks for your answer. I will contact tagdiv. But when I took a closer look to settings in rankmath I found out that in the field single article description is always chosen %excerpt% . Couldn’t that be a problem too? Should I change it to %sitedesc%? Is %sitedesc% the meta description for every single site?

    Greetings Kathrin

    Hello,

    Sorry for the delay.

If you use %excerpt% as the variable for showing the meta description – the first paragraph of your content will be automatically used for the meta description. That also means if you are using CSS, or code as the very first thing, then that is what is used as the meta description.

If you set it to %sitedesc%, the meta description will use the page/post’s description.

Hope that helps. Thank you and looking forward to your update.

Thanks, I changed the settings for the Pages. How long it will take that the changes are showing up in Google?

But also I have another question: I added / changed the description for categories. But the sitemap for categories is not updating. I had the Same Problem concerning Posts but after implementing a Peace of Code from you that was implemented in the functions.php everything works fine. Could you Help me also with the categories?

Another Problem are the links that Google Shows Up below my Domain, they are Always changing. Is this caused by a Problem between your Plugin and my Theme?

    Greetings Kathrin

Update: Google indexed my pages again, but there is no change in the meta-description of the pages. The meta description is not showing up.

Another problem: when I make changes concerning the category descriptions the category sitemap is not updating, why not?

    Greetings Kathrin

    Hello,

    Sorry for the delay.

It seems that the Meta description is already showing in search results. Please check the screenshots in the Sensitive Data section.

For updating the sitemap, could you please follow these steps?
    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/xXXhDt

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server, and that should fix the issue.

I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.

Ok, but the descriptions are not showing up in Google… Google displays the following for mediakit: Mediakit. Topfgartenwelt – Logo – Footer. ABOUT US. Ein herzliches Willkommen auf Topf.Garten.Welt, dem Gartenblog, Foodblog und Familienblog aus … Google is here indexing something from the mobile layout, why?

It seems that I see an old cache from Google on my computer… is there a way to clear it?

    Greetings Kathrin
