Unable to connect / select an account in Analytics

    Hi,

    I’m trying to connect RankMath to a Google account that I set up for my site. I have given RM permission to access analytics data etc. When I get to the Analytics screen (within RankMath inside my WordPress back end), the Analytics section will not allow me to select an account as there is no option on the drop-down box?

    It’s probably something really simple but I’ve been messing about for a couple of hours now.

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting the support and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    Please follow these steps:

    If you are not seeing any data inside your Analytics module, this guide might help you.

    A. Pre-check List

    1. You should not be using Google Analytics v4 or Matomo Analytics.

    2. Update to the latest version of Rank Math Free

    3. Disconnect and reconnect your account from inside WordPress:

    B. Refresh Tokens

    1. Please delete RankMath’s app from here:
    https://myaccount.google.com/permissions

    2. Re-create tables by clicking WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Status & Tools > Database Tools and click the Re-create database Table button.

    3. Reconnect the account inside Rank Math by clicking here and ensure that you approve all the permission notices that shows up:
    WP Dashboard >> Rank Math >> General Settings >> Analytics tab, and click the Reconnect link

    4. Let the process complete and it might take around 30 minutes.

    5. Now head over to WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Status & Tools > Database Tools and click the Rebuild Index for Analytics button.

    6. Please check if the data shows up here:

    If that does not help, please paste the data from here:
    WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Status & Tools > System Status and click the Copy System Info to Clipboard button

    Hello,

    We wanted to add that if you do not see your property in the dropdown – it is likely because you are using GA4.

    Google Analytics 4 (which is the new default when creating an Analytics property) is relatively a new product and is in Beta, & there could be data discrepancies if we were to integrate them into Rank Math. And the fact that their APIs are not yet fully ready for 3rd party integration, there is not much we can do.

    We have to wait until Google makes the APIs available so it could be integrated.

    For now, you can enable Google Analytics v3 while creating a new property by following this screencast:

    This way you can have the data stored in Google new and the stable version.

    With that said, we will begin working on the integration as soon as they improve their API.
