“The response is not a valid JSON response”

I am not able to save posts due to an error pointing to rank math. Whenever attempting to save a post I receive an error message stating, “The response is not a valid JSON response”. The focus keyword will not save and the post changes will not save.

I tried the recommended wordpress site health plugin/ troubleshooting mode, disabled all other plugins and changed the theme to a standard wordpress theme. This has not given me the ability to add a focus keyword or save a post if rank math plugin is installed.

I have attached an image of my error message.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I have checked the website and every time I work with a post (even when saving it as a draft) it shows in the dev console the following error:

    GET https://yourwebsite.com/wp-json/wp/v2/users/me?_locale=user 403
    POST https://yourwebsite.com/wp-json/wp/v2/posts/2339/autosaves?_locale=user 403

Those errors can happen by several reasons like not valid permissions in folders, incorrect .htaccess… I have added here a guide you should check: https://docs.presscustomizr.com/article/195-http-error-403

Could you check it and see if it solves your issue?

    Looking forward to help you.

It looks the the firewall was not allowing changes to be made. Thank you.

    Hello,

    Sorry for the delay.

It looks like you’ve already managed this issue by configuring your firewall.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us by opening a new ticket if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Thank you.
