  • I previously reported sitemap couldn’t fetch issues, I tried the recommendations:
    Ive tried all the following:

    . Check Rank Math Settings

Ensure that your posts are set to index. You can do this by navigating to Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta. In the Robots Meta settings, make sure the Index checkbox is enabled for your posts.

    Index Titles and Meta settings
    2. Validate Your Sitemap

Use the Validate XML Sitemap tool to confirm that your sitemap is correctly configured. Enter your sitemap URL and click VALIDATE SITEMAP. If there are any issues, they will be highlighted.

    3. Flush the Cache

If your sitemap appears outdated, you may need to flush the sitemap cache. Go to Rank Math SEO → Sitemap Settings, increase the value of Links Per Sitemap by one, and then save your settings. After that, navigate to Settings → Permalinks and click Save Changes to ensure the current settings are applied.

    Flush Permalinks
    4. Check for NoIndex Tags

Make sure that the pages you want indexed do not have a noindex tag set. You can check this in the Rank Math Metabox when editing a post or page. Ensure that the Robots Meta is set to Index.

Set Robots Meta to index in Rank Math Metabox
    5. Resubmit Your Sitemap

    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:

But i am still having issues with my sub-sitemaps not being fetched some are being fetched fine, whilst others aren’t i dont know if this is a rankmath issue or google issue

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issues you are facing with your sitemap not being fetched correctly. It sounds like you’ve already taken several important steps to troubleshoot the problem. Here are a few additional suggestions that might help:

    1. Check Sitemap Location: Ensure that your sitemap is located in the root folder of your WordPress installation. The URL should look like this: https://yourdomainname.com/sitemap_index.xml.

    2. Verify Sitemap Configuration: Use the Validate XML Sitemap tool again to ensure there are no issues with the sitemap configuration.

    3. Flush Permalinks: As you mentioned, flushing permalinks can help. Just navigate to Settings → Permalinks and click Save Changes even if you didn’t make any changes.
      Flush permalink settings

    4. Check for Plugin Conflicts: Sometimes, other plugins can interfere with Rank Math’s functionality. You can use the Health Check plugin to identify any potential conflicts.

    5. Correct URL Variation: Make sure you are submitting the correct version of your sitemap in Google Search Console. Check your site address in Settings → General to confirm the correct URL variation.

    6. Check Robots.txt: Ensure that your robots.txt file is not blocking access to your sitemap. You can check this in Rank Math SEO → General Settings → robots.txt.

    7. Resubmit Your Sitemap: After making these checks and adjustments, resubmit your sitemap in Google Search Console.
